Ephrata Cloister Offers Apple Dumplings to Save History
Apple Dumplings—those tasty apples wrapped in pastry and covered in sweet cinnamon syrup, are returning to help raise funds for the Back to the Cloister Fund. These delicious treats created by Achenbach’s Bakery will be joined this year by apple and pumpkin pies to round out the flavors of fall. The funds raised in this annual event help return original artifacts to the Cloister museum collection. This year, the apple dumplings and pies will be available on October 5 and 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., but there is no guarantee supplies will last until the end of the day on Saturday, so plan to make your purchases early. No admission is required to purchase apple dumplings. Guided tours of the historic site are available at the regular admission rate.
