The Lancaster Conservncy preserves rocks that are as complexly deformed as those found in the Alps and the Himalayas. In this brief talk, Dr Zeshan Ismat will reveal some of the unique rock structures preserved in Lancaster County (e.g. Chickies Rock, the Martic Line, Pequea Silver Mine, House Rock and the Conestoga limestone folds) and how they can be used to unravel the formation history of the great Appalachian mountains.
Registration is required. Attendees will receive an e-mail with a link to access the presentation via Zoom the day of the event. Conservancy staff will be on hand starting at 6:50pm prior to each lecture to answer your questions and help you familiarize yourself with how Zoom works.
