This magical tale opens with the miller bragging to the king that his beautiful daughter can spin straw into gold. Soon after, the king brings the girl into the palace and orders her to perform this incredulous feat. She is unfortunately unable to perform the task and starts to worry about her fate until a droll-looking man enters the scene.
