Quarryville’s Great Rock community offers a picturesque neighborhood of cottage homes where active, independent people can Retire the Ordinary and Live the Extraordinary. Nestled in the countryside, the Great Rock neighborhood provides maintenance-free, spacious living to enhance active, independent lifestyles.
Our Pet Philosophy: Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community recognizes the positive impact pets can have on seniors’ well-being and happiness and the important role that pets have played throughout our residents’ lives. To help maintain and nurture these unique relationships, Quarryville welcomes pets into our cottage community and offers an active pet therapy program for residents who no longer have a pet of their own.
We welcome: Dogs, cats, fish and birds are allowed, subject to review and approval by the administration.
Restrictions: We welcome pets into our cottage community. Pets are invited to visit our apartments during the day but cannot spend the night.
Partnerships with Therapy Groups: We partner with Keystone Pet Enhanced Therapy Services (KPETS). Pets and their owners visit residents regularly and enjoy each other’s company.
Resident Therapy Pets: One of our cottage community residents owns a trained therapy dog who makes a significant contribution to the community and our residents.
Deposits/fees: Yes, the current deposit amount is $800. No monthly fee.
Are residents permitted to have more than one pet? Yes, our cottage community residents may have up to two pets.
Exercise: We have walking paths throughout campus that are suitable for pets and their owners.
Are residents’ visitors permitted to bring their pets on campus? Yes, visitors frequently bring their pets to see family members and loved ones residing in all levels of care.
Are there veterinary practices located near your community? Yes, there are several veterinary practices in the local Quarryville area.
