Residential Options:
Making the move to one of our apartments or cottages will allow you to take on an active lifestyle that gives you more time to do what you want, whether it’s spending time with your pets and loved ones, traveling or engaging in hobbies. This maintenance-free lifestyle reduces your worries both in the present and in the future with priority access to additional support services like personal care and skilled nursing.
Our Pet Philosophy: United Zion understands the benefits of pets and pet visitors on both the mental and physical health for residents at all levels of care. Pets are beloved family members that can provide support, encourage exercise and more. Being pet-friendly is just one of the ways United Zion supports the overall spiritual, physical and mental wellbeing of residents.
We welcome: Domesticated animals such as cats, dogs, birds, rabbits, fish and hamsters may reside in residential living. Pet visitors and therapy animals are welcome at all levels of care.
Resident Therapy Pets: Pets can provide comfort and support. For those who don’t have pets, volunteers bring a variety of therapy animals to visit residents. Plus, United Zion has a number of robotic pets that can “live” with residents in the healthcare center.
Are residents permitted to have more than one pet? Yes.
Exercise: With sidewalks and plenty of green space, United Zion is a great place for walking dogs, especially considering that our grounds crew will shovel snow from the paths during the winter months. Plus, get some additional exercise by walking the Warwick to Ephrata Rail-Trail, which is just a few blocks away.
Are there veterinary practices/pet-supply store located near your community? United Zion is just a few minutes away from a local bakery that makes homemade dog biscuits, as well as a veterinary office, groomers and pet supply stores. Want to take your dog out for a meal? Many downtown Lititz restaurants are pet-friendly.
Do you allow visits from mobile veterinary practices? Yes.
Is the design of your residences pet-friendly? Residential living residents may choose the flooring that will work best for them and their pets. Plus, all cottages have walk-out daylight basements, giving you extra space for you and your pets.
