A Summer of Music!

The arrival of summer means concerts are being held in parks, vineyards, historic sites and venues across Lancaster County. Pack up your lawn chairs and spend an evening listening to music. Bring your own treats or patronize the food trucks and vendors that are onsite at most venues.

Many of the events offer free admission, although sponsoring organizations appreciate donations.

Long’s Park Summer Music Series

  • June 12: Twist on Taylor. Vegas veteran, Jessica Rhodes, brings the sound of Taylor Swift to Greenfield.

  • July 24: Piano Men: The Music of Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder and Elton John. Prima Theatre is celebrating the iconic music of Billy Joel, Elton John and Stevie Wonder. The event will feature a live band and a lineup of incredible vocalists – including Alyssa Ray, a finalist on American Idol — from the team at Prima.

  • August 21: The Music of Queen + Journey. Prima Theatre pays tribute to the iconic anthems of rock legends Queen and Journey. Event features live band and an all-star lineup of powerhouse vocalists, including America’s Got Talent standout Donovan Hoffer.

Sounds of Strasburg

Baroque at Historic Rock Ford *

The Ephrata Chamber Ensemble will present a program at Historic Rock Ford.

On June 3, Historic Rock Ford will welcome the Ephrata Chamber Ensemble for Baroque on the Piazza. The ensemble will be presenting Vivaldi’s Double Trumpet Concerto in C Major, as well as works by Handel, Telemann, Corelli, J.S. Bach and more. Bring a chair. Lititz Springs Park

One of the country’s longest-running July 4th celebrations is held in Lititz and music (and a dance party) provide the entertainment until it’s fireworks time. Where else can you see the Lititz Community Band, 3 Hour Tour, Jess Zimmerman Band and Maxwell Project on one stage? Lancaster International Piano & Chamber Music Festival *

Founded in 2012, the festival has welcomed participants and musicians from nearly 40 countries. The 10-day event, being held July 18-28, includes classes and workshops led by a world class faculty, and concerts that feature guest artists. All concerts are held at the Barshinger Center on the campus of Franklin & Marshall College (College Ave.) and begin at 7 p.m., unless noted otherwise.
