Join an ensemble of professional dancers as they creep, crawl, weave, fly, spin, sting, and hatch a captivating cast of creatures to life!

LOVEBUG will transport viewers into the hungry bullfrog’s fly-filled bog, a bustling beehive, the chrysalis of the contemplative caterpillar, and the web of the bella tarantella, just to name a few.

Written and directed by Lauren Tait, LOVEBUG merges intricate movement, playful original poetry, and elaborate costumes and props—from a life-sized suspended cocoon to a giant spiderweb–to create an evocative and visually compelling experience with the aim to spark wonder and discovery in audiences young and old.

FRWRD Dance Co is pleased to partner with the Lancaster Conservancy to build awareness around the ecological importance of bugs. According to Keith Williams, Vice President of Engagement and Education at the Conservancy, “insects play critically important roles in nature that directly impact us. Beyond their ecological roles, the functions they perform that support our survival, insects deserve our love because they are beautiful and fascinating. The Lancaster Conservancy is interested in insect conservation since one of the reasons we protect land is biodiversity conservation, and we are losing insect diversity at an alarming rate.”

Following the show, grab a bug-themed cocktail from the bar and join the cast and crew as we celebrate the launch of FRWRD Dance Co and LOVEBUG! The performance is child-friendly; the post-show premier party is geared towards adults.
