Artists will paint en plein air over a ten-day period on both sides of the Susquehanna River. En plein air is French for painting outdoors, in the “open air.” Watch artists at work (at a safe distance), then visit the resulting art exhibit at Studio 264, Marietta Community House, 264 W Market St, Marietta PA. Last year artists created over 170 paintings, many purchased by local collectors.
Public Event Schedule:
April 18-27, 2021: Artists paint both sides of Susquehanna
April 23, 2021: Sat 10AM-Noon – Quick Draw Competition, Marietta. Registered artists are challenged to create a painting in two hours. Public is invited to watch the artists in action. Awards and sales immediately follow.
April 24, 2021: Sun 12PM-3PM – Fish Printing Free Family Activity, Susquehanna Waldorf School. With the help of volunteers, children will create one-of-a-kind fish print T-shirts. No registration necessary. Free T-shirts while supplies last.
April 29-May 1, 2021: Public plein air exhibit: Fri 5PM-9PM; Sat 10AM-5PM; Sun 10AM-4PM. Rear 264 W Market St, Marietta PA
