September 15 | Lancaster County Field of Hope

West Hempfield Township

This farm-to-table dinner, which will be prepared by Chef Jason Hampton, benefits individuals and families who are facing medical hardships. This year’s beneficiaries include (clockwise from left) Steven Drake, who is dealing with early onset Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia; Nika Corwin, who has been battling Lyme disease for more than 10 years; Angelica Zander, who was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at age 8; and Isaiah Shorter, who underwent surgery for a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor at age 14. The event, which will be held at the home of Carol and Pete Heth in West Hempfield Township, includes a mix-and-mingle reception with wine, beer, hors d’oeuvres and music provided by Scott Parmer. The Rafiki African Festival – a cultural event that introduces African food, art, dance, storytelling, fashions and more – is celebrating a decade of bringing African culture to the Lancaster community. The nonprofit organization envisions a community in which individuals and families have the hope and capacity to build and manage conditions that promote optimum health. September 1 & 2 | Heart of Lancaster Arts & Craft Show

Root’s Country Market

Celebrating its 31st anniversary, this show will feature 200 juried artists and craftspeople from Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Lititz Springs Park

Event features games, activities, a costume contest, pet-friendly vendors and more, all for your four-legged furry friends. Celebrate a milestone year with Lancaster General Health during this community-wide celebration. Enjoy a fun-filled day of health and wellness. Healthy activities will include learning about cancer breakthroughs, checking out tools for heart care, boosting your brain with memory tips and more. Bring the kids and watch as they get active with soccer drills, dress up in the selfie station, tour a giant blow-up human body, learn about hand hygiene and how to build strong bones with healthy food tips. Ware Program Services Center. After touring the new building, visit the various mission booths to learn how service dogs are trained, hear firsthand recipient stories, watch service dog demonstrations and more.
