Our annual “Columbia Railroad Day” and the “Shifter Showdown” being held on Saturday May 7th, Rain or Shine! This year’s theme is “Pennsylvania Railroad”; we will be displaying some rare artifacts from our archives as well as guest speakers who will talk about the history and significance of the PRR in America. Being held at the “Crossings”, Columbia River Park again this year.
There will be historic railroad trolley tours to point out the significant role Columbia played in being a major railroad hub in Pennsylvania.
The “Shifter Showdown” will be a competition between participating Columbia restaurants to see who can produce the best tasting Shifter and custom Shifter. One of our judges is direct descendant of “Tuffy O’Leana” the inventor of the “Shifter.”
