Organic Reflections: Music From The Movies

Organic Reflections: Music From The Movies

On Friday, September 1 at 8 PM, the mighty vintage 1958 analog Allen organ will again be the featured instrument for a 30 minute concert celebrating “Music from the Movies”. Guest organist Ken Krause will perform works including “Schindler’s List” by John Williams, and “All the Things You Are” by Jerome Kern, and Barry Manilow’s “Could It Be Magic?” The program also includes the Maestoso and Allegro from “Organ Sonata No. 2 in G minor” by Gustav Merkel, a favorite accompaniment from the era of silent films. The concert will be held in the historic 1854 First Reformed Church in downtown Lancaster. “Organic Reflections” is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to hear 30 minutes of classical organ music that will refresh your soul and inspire your spirit.
