Organic Reflections: Summer Happenings

Organic Reflections: Summer Happenings

This month’s First Friday “Organic Reflections” Organ Concert will be held on June 2, 2023 at 8 pm in the historic First Reformed Church, UCC at 40 East Orange Street, Lancaster. Organist Larry Hershey will perform on the mighty vintage 1958 analog Allen Organ with a program of “Summer Happenings”. Selections will include “The Heavens Declare” (Psalm 19) by Benedetto Marcello, “Fountain Reverie” by Percy Fletcher and Robert Ward’s “The Glorious Sun”. Johann Sebastian Bach’s famous “Sheep May Safely Graze” from Cantata No. 208 will be performed along with George Frideric Handel’s “Minuet Finale” from the Fireworks Music Suite.

This series of free First Friday concerts is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to hear 30 minutes of inspiring organ music that will refresh your soul and inspire your spirit.
