Revolutionary War Medicine

Historic Rock Ford welcomes Thomas Plott as he interprets Dr. James Craik, the first Physician General of the United States and George Washington’s personal physician and friend, and discusses the medical practices of the Revolutionary War and the tools used by doctors in the 18th century. Thomas Plott serves as Manager of Character Interpretation at Mount Vernon and brings over 30 years of professional acting and directing experience. Tom has made a career of portraying historical characters from Shakespeare to Da Vinci to John Wilkes Booth. He now uses his versatility and skills as an actor and researcher to depict George Washington’s personal physician Dr. James Craik, the first Physician General of the United States. This event will be held on the first floor of the Rock Ford Barn.
