We The People First Friday & The Arts At Millersville University

Free and open to the public; no tickets are required. The Arts at Millersville University joins Lancaster City’s First Friday celebrations with We the People First Friday in Lancaster. April’s First Friday performance, Acts of Welcome, celebrates the artistry of Lancaster’s treasured refugee and immigrant communities and features diverse artists performing in a wide variety of genres. The performance begins at 6:30 p.m. in Steinman Hall. In the Regitz Gallery, a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. will celebrate the opening of the exhibit New Work by the MU Art and Design Faculty. The department’s studio offerings include ceramics, metals and jewelry, sculpture, painting, graphic and interactive design, photography, printmaking, and drawing. The exhibit will be on display from April 5 through April 26. “Our studio practice as artists and designers informs how we instruct as faculty,” said Brant Schuller, Professor of Art and Printmaking at Millersville University. “It is this time in the studio that allows for mastery of one’s craft, greater exploration of meaning, and the development of a larger appreciation for the field.”
