Yuletide at Wheatland

Visit LancasterHistory and discover the holiday traditions—and the histories behind them—during James Buchanan’s lifetime. In a guided tour, a historically costumed guide will take visitors through both floors of the decorated mansion, imparting stories and histories about Buchanan’s public and personal life through the lens of Yuletides past. From gift giving to trimming the tree, visitors will find out how Yuletide traditions developed over the course of the mid-Victorian era in America.

Yuletide at Wheatland begins November 24 and runs through December 30. Tours are available Wednesdays – Saturdays, on the half hour, from 10am (first tour of the day) until 3pm (last tour of the day). LancasterHistory will offer additional Yuletide tours on Mondays and Tuesdays, December 20, 21, 28, and 29 only.

It is not a performance with reenactors.
