“Stars, Stripes & Pipes”

“Stars, Stripes & Pipes”

In honor of our nation’s 250th birthday, First Reformed Church of Lancaster will present a free 30 minute concert by guest organist Ken Krause on First Friday. The program, “Stars, Stripes & Pipes” will include “Patriotic Prelude” by Gordon Young, “You’re A Grand Old Flag” by George M. Cohan, and “Prayer for Peace” by Paul Fey. The concert will conclude with Irving Berlin’s “God Bless America”.

Mr. Krause is an organ builder with Columbia Organ Works and organist at Saint John Lutheran Church. The concert will be performed on The Hill Byrne/Christiansen Memorial Organ in First Reformed’s historic 1854 sanctuary.

The First Friday “Organic Reflections” concert series is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. Doors open at 7:30 pm. All are welcome to hear 30 minutes of majestic music that will refresh your soul and inspire your spirit.
