CELEBRATING LANCASTER COUNTY'S PEOPLE, SCENERY,

HERITAGE, STYLE & POINT OF VIEW SINCE 1987.

This Is Us

September 2, 2016  |  Lauren Sadler and Anthony DiLoreto

What made this wedding unique? Personal touches, music choices, family traditions and organic vegetables that were incorporated into the floral design were used to celebrate the newest branch on their family trees.

How They Met:

The two connected online, while Lauren was studying horticulture at Temple University. A month later, they met for dinner at the Fireside Grill in Ambler, Montgomery County.

Occupations:

Lauren is a patient care attendant at Lancaster General Hospital. Before that, she was the assistant farm manager at Everblossom Farm in East Berlin. Lauren also served a two-year apprenticeship at Pennypack Farm and Education Center in Fort Washington. Anthony is employed by Pennsy Supply in quality control.

The Proposal:

Anthony asked Lauren to marry him at home; it was her 26th birthday.

Their Parents:

Lauren is the daughter of David and Cindy Sadler of Marietta, while Anthony is the son of Anthony and Linda DiLoreto of Philadelphia.

Ceremony Site/Reception Venue:

Cameron Estate Inn.

Their Vision:

The theme, This is Us, was carried out with family pictures that figured into the décor of the reception venue. Also, since farming has played an important role in Lauren’s life, organic vegetables became a prominent part of the floral design. Even the cake alluded to farming/gardening. Growing vegetables also became a hobby that Lauren and Anthony shared while they were dating. “The vegetable theme just made sense,” says Lauren. Family traditions were also honored, including trays of Italian cookies that were delivered to each table at the reception.

Color Scheme:

Blue skies were portrayed in the bridesmaids’ dresses: “Once Upon a Time” blue from Alfred Angelo. The farming aspect was represented by shades of purple, green and white.

Floral Story:

Organic vegetables, natural elements (such as thistle), herbs and succulents figured into the floral design.

Cake Description:

The farming/gardening-inspired, four-tiered cake featured hand-painted flowers and three flavors: chocolate with Kahlua cream, white chocolate with strawberry cream, and lemon with lemon cream.

Song for First Dance:

From the Ground Up by Dan + Shay. The song alludes to the couple’s vision: in the music video, a bride and groom are seen looking at old photographs of family
members before they leave for the church.

Favorite Wedding Memory:

The couple’s favorite memory was exchanging vows.

Honeymoon Destination:

Sandals Grande St. Lucia.
