We had so many pictures left over from photo shoots in Kevin Lehman and Stacy Martin’s gardens that we thought it was a shame not to share them.

This is the extent of the lawn that is left in the backyard that was a sea of grass when Kevin and Stacy bought the property eight years ago. Stacy has steadily been replacing the lawn with gardens and seating areas.

Kevin began creating the clay-and-glass tree when he was studying in Philadelphia. It later became a statement piece in the Elizabethtown gardens of the late Jim Showers. After Jim’s death, Kevin moved it to his home and updated it with additional glass and metal features provided by artist John Morrow.

The newest patio claimed space in a corner of the backyard that wasn’t realizing its full potential.

Stacy is slowly replacing the lawn in the front yard with gardens that bloom with roses, clematis, foxglove and orlaya, among other plants.

Metal artist, John Morrow, helped Kevin to put the final touches on a lighting installation inspired by the plant, Solomon’s seal.

A small greenhouse allows Stacy to get a jump start on the growing season, as well as overwinter plants.

Who needs white noise when there’s a fountain outside your bedroom window? The fountain was a collaborative effort on the parts of Kevin (the base) and Phil Kreider (the fountain). Kirk Zutell photo.
